Rest In Peace Hank

28 Years. It’s hard to summarize 28 years of unconditional love and dedication to a life. Hank was part of our family as he grew in his mares belly. My dad was there to welcome him into our family within days of his birth, coming home to us at 6 months old. Hank carried us through our grandest adventures as we could always count on his steadfast demeanor to get us through anything.

Everything I do, it’s for them, to give them the best life, fields to run and roam, mountains to climb and journeys into the unknown that they love as deeply as we do. The mules go and give without question, they love you back as endlessly as you love them. I gave him everything that I could and love him with all my heart and soul.

For the past two years, I’ve been preparing, knowing this day was coming, and deep down I knew he didn’t have another Wyoming hunting season or winter in him. I’m grateful for the days and years, for him helping to train my new baby mules to be strong and confident, like him.

In the end, he didn’t know he was dying, he just knew he hurt. He was tired and it’s now his time to rest. Hank will live forever in my heart and in our memories.
