Black Hills Endurance Ride – Between the Ears of Cora

Cora and I had such a fun weekend at the Black Hills Endurance Ride! 🐴✨ We tackled the 30-mile ride on both Saturday and Sunday. 17 riders on day one, and 9 on day two for the 30 mile ride. I was lucky to share the trail with my friend Julia Sugg and her amazing mules, Steel and Meadow, and on Sunday, Chris Knutson joined us with his firecracker of a mule, Denali.

Big thanks to my mentors TJ Edwards and Julia for guiding me on how to pace these tough miles while keeping our mules’ health and well-being front and center. Saturday we finished 6th, and Sunday 5th. The trails were technical, sometimes rocky, with 4,000 ft of climbing and descent over 30 miles, plus bridges, tunnels, and water crossings. The scenery? Absolutely unbeatable. In total Cora and I trailed 8,000 ft and 60 miles over the two amazing days. 🌲⛰️

I’m already counting down to next year with the goal of stepping up to the 50-mile ride!
